Belgian passion for Italian wine
In the small village of Moie, near Jesi, you can find Vino di Bacco. At first glance it may look like a regular enoteca, but it is actually a wine shop with a very special story: it is run by David Rooyackers, a Belgian who fell in love with Italy and settled in Le Marche with his Italian wife Romina.
What started as a personal passion for wine has grown into a professional project entirely focused on discovery, quality, and experience. David is not a traditional salesperson, but a true wine enthusiast who tastes, selects, and gets to know the stories behind every bottle.
What makes Vino di Bacco special?
The concept of Vino di Bacco is entirely based on passion and selection: all wines in David’s range are chosen directly from the producers. He works with around 40 wineries across Italy, almost all small family-run estates, each with its own story and often a long winemaking tradition. Thanks to his background as a chemist and certified sommelier, every wine is personally tasted and analysed before being included in his selection. This allows you to discover not only well-known names, but also surprising hidden gems. Different grape varieties from various Italian regions are compared, whether white, red, rosé, sparkling wine, or dessert wine. The result is a carefully curated selection where quality and authenticity matter more than quantity.

Recently, David has also expanded his range with local and international spirits such as grappa, liqueurs, rum, gin, whisky, and bitters. Perfect for those who also enjoy more spirited drinks or interesting cocktails alongside wine.
David is a passionate wine expert who loves sharing his knowledge and fresh perspective on the Italian wine world and local traditions. He explains grape varieties, climates, and production regulations. He teaches you about the winemaking process, wine classifications such as Classico, DOC or Superiore, and the meaning of the information on a wine label. He also gives advice on how to properly store wine, serve it, and keep it after opening. And of course, which flavour combinations work best with different dishes. A true educational added value during your holiday in Italy!
