Olive Harvest
In October, life in Le Marche revolves around the olive harvest. Social life slows down and seems to take place almost entirely around the scales at the local frantoio (olive press). It is a truly unique experience: starting in the morning sunshine by spreading out the nets, then watching the olives fall. All the hard work is rewarded when you bring in the harvest and take home wonderfully fruity, freshly pressed olive oil!
What can you expect?
We welcome you for 3 to 4 days in the olive grove. We provide all the necessary equipment and a picnic lunch under the olive trees. We’ll give you a quick introduction to harvesting and pruning and keep you motivated throughout the day until the baskets are full!
After a hard day’s work, take a refreshing dip in the pool or enjoy an aperitivo with a glass of wine while watching the sun set after a relaxing shower.
After a week of harvesting, we’ll take you to the frantoio to see the pressing process up close. And of course, you’ll go home with a bottle of olive oil made from the olives you picked yourself!
When
We offer our olive harvest package at the end of October and beginning of November, depending on the ripeness of the olives.
The olive harvest package is available for stays of 5 nights or more.
Price
You only pay for your accommodation and breakfast.
As a thank you for your help, we provide your lunch, the full olive-harvesting experience and a bottle of olive oil.
